Product description:

Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) is also known as caustic soda, caustic soda, caustic soda, or chemical name. Pure flake alkali is generally in the form of blocks or flakes. Strong hygroscopicity, easily soluble in water. The aqueous solution feels slippery and alkaline. By utilizing its strong metabolism, it can loosen, emulsify, and disperse the sediment inside metal equipment, thereby achieving the purpose of cleaning equipment dirt. It can also remove all oils and fats, as well as difficult to clean dirt such as calcium sulfate and calcium silicate.

Application of caustic soda:

1. Used for the production of papermaking and cellulose pulp;

2. Used for the production of soap, synthetic detergents, synthetic fatty acids, and the refining of animal and plant fats.

3. The textile printing and dyeing industry is used as a desizing agent, refining agent, and mercerizing agent for cotton fabrics.

4. The chemical industry is used to produce borax, sodium cyanide, formic acid, oxalic acid, phenol, etc.

5. The petroleum industry is used for refining petroleum products and in oilfield drilling mud. It is also used for surface treatment in the production of alumina, metallic zinc, and metallic copper, as well as in glass, enamel, leather making, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and pesticides.

6. Food grade caustic soda is used in the food industry as an acid neutralizer, can be used as a peeler for citrus, peach, etc., can also be used as a detergent for empty bottles, cans, and other containers, as well as a decolorizer and deodorizer.

7. It can also be used as an alkaline desiccant. Soda is widely used in the national economy, and many industrial sectors require it. The department that uses caustic soda the most is the manufacturing of chemicals, followed by papermaking, aluminum refining, tungsten refining, artificial silk, artificial cotton, and soap manufacturing. In addition, in the production of dyes, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and organic intermediates, the regeneration of old rubber, the electrolysis of metal sodium and water, and the production of inorganic salts, a large amount of caustic soda is also used to produce borax, chromium salts, manganese salts, phosphates, etc.

Packaging, storage and transportation of caustic soda:

Generally, 25kg three-layer plastic woven bags are used for caustic soda, with the inner and outer layers made of plastic woven bags, and the middle layer made of plastic inner membrane bags. Alkaline flakes are classified as Class 8.2 alkaline corrosives in the Classification and Labeling of Commonly Used Hazardous Chemicals (GB 13690-92), classified as Class 8 hazardous materials, with a hazard code of 1823. It should be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse or cargo shed. The packaging container should be complete and sealed. It is not allowed to store and transport flammable materials and acids together. During transportation, attention should be paid to moisture-proof and rainproof measures. When a fire occurs, water, sand, and various fire extinguishers can be used to extinguish it, but firefighters should pay attention to the corrosiveness of the water dissolved in caustic soda.
